Have you ever wondered how people you knew would react if you died? Recently I had the unusual experience of finding out just that.
I was first alerted to the fact that my obituary was in the local newspaper, when a friend phoned to enquire after my health. It would seem that she had been made aware of my 'death' by family from across the world in Australia. They had heard it from family or friends back in England. News does indeed travel fast.
Having set the record straight with that friend I encountered another when I popped into her new shop to congratulated her on its opening. The welcome I received was rapturous. I guessed what was coming; she had seen the announcement. She even had the newspaper cutting in her handbag . She wanted to check out that the middle name was the same as mine, before she sent it off to her sister in Jordon. Wise woman.
The enquiries still keep coming. My niece in Devon informed me this weekend, that elderly friends in Suffolk had expressed their condolences to her on the death of her Aunt June.
So maybe there is no better way to start a blog than by telling the world that I am alive and well!
Not only am I alive but I am living it to the full.
Jesus said "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" John 10:10.
I believe what He said, and that is the news that I want to fly around the world.
